AC Milan considering January move for Italian prodigy

Moise Kean

Former Juventus striker Moise Kean could make a January return to Italy after just six months in Premier League with AC Milan interested in him.

The January transfer window is an opportunity to reinforce the squad in certain areas in two months. Last season the Rossoneri signed players like Piatek and Lucas Paqueta at this time of the year. Now, AC Milan are considering different profiles that help Pioli’s side reach Champions League qualification.

Among the players being observed, there is also an old transfer target like Moise Kean. Last summer the Italian striker switched Juventus for Everton for a fee of around €27 million, plus 3 in bonuses. According to Calciomercato.it, a quick return to Italy is a real opportunity for the 19-year-old centre forward former Juventus. AC Milan are planning a low-cot signing for the attack and Moise Kean could be the perfect possibility.

So far Kean has made 8 Premier League appearances, for a total of 280 minutes on the pitch. The young Italian striker has played only one game for the entire ninety minutes, followed by sporadic cameos ever since. No goals and only one assists in his Premier League adventure. A very negative start, unlike what was expected.

Kean is therefore struggling a lot in the beginning of the season, and even with the national team he is not doing well. Coach Roberto Mancini has not called him up for the last matches, and in the last match with Italy under-21 he received a red card after just 19 minutes on the pitch.

The obstacles of Moise Kean’s transfer to AC Milan could essentially be two. The first is the willingness of Everton to keep Kean despite his underwhelming performances. The English club don’t want to risk losing money after investing so much for Kean. On the other hand Everton are open to a loan move for Kean, even with the right to make the move permanent at the end of the season. However, establishing a fair price tag will not be easy.

A return to a familiar league like Serie A could be precisely what Kean needs to revive his career. His agent, Mino Raiola is already on the move. With Euro 2020 to be played at the end of the season, Kean is looking for an opportunity to be notice by coach Mancini.
