AC Milan improve offer for Lazio star
After the arrival of Higuan, AC Milan could land another Serie A star with Leonardo in negotiations for the services of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.
In an unexpected turn of events, after having signed both Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara from Juventus, Leonardo is negotiating the purchase of one of the biggest stars of Serie A. AC Milan have now set their sights on Lazio’s central midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
There were talks in recent days about an offer of 70 million euros plus Fabio Borini and Lucas Biglia. The Argentine midfielder was part of Lazio for many years while the Italian chameleon was a target of Simone Inzaghi’s side last summer. Lazio president Claudio Lotito has apparently refused such an offer reaffirming his intention that he is willing to sell the Serbian only for an “indecent” offer, meaning more than 100 million euros.
The new technical director of AC Milan seems willing to make another staggering proposal. According to La Stampa, Leonardo has presented a new bid: loan for 40 million euros with an option to buy at the end of the season for another 80 million euros. The 80 million must be paid in two or three installments.
It’s not year clear what Lazio intend to do now and if president Lotito will demand for more or if he will cash-in immediately. Milinkovic-Savic joined Lazio in 2015 for 18 million euros and in the last three seasons has been one of the best players of his squad. In 48 appearances he scored 14 goals last season while assisting many others. The 23 year old was a target of AC Milan even last summer when Mirabelli saw a 60 million offer getting rejected.
