AC Milan identify Ballo-Toure’s replacement
AC Milan are preparing to offload Fode Ballo-Toure after just one season. The Rossoneri have already identified his replacement.
AC Milan left-back Fode Ballo-Toure has not lived up to expectations. The Rossoneri had high hopes when they signed the 25-year-old from Monaco last summer but the Senegal international has failed to deliver. Ballo-Toure was supposed to be the back-up of Theo Hernandez this season but the experiment proved unsuccessful.
The defender has made only 11 appearances, almost always as a substitute. In fact, coach Stefano Pioli has often been forced to deploy Alessandro Florenzi or Davide Calabria in the left-back position because Ballo-Toure was considered unreliable.
AC Milan spent 5 million euros to buy Ballo-Toure from Monaco. However, he will bid farewell to the club at the end of the season. Despite recently winning the African Cup, Fode will not be part of AC Milan for next season with the Rossoneri already on the move to find his replacement.
Tuttosport reports that AC Milan have identified Fabiano Parisi as the ideal substitute of Ballo-Toure. The 21-year-old is having a breakthrough season helping Empoli reach a surprising and comfortable mid-table position. Parisi’s performances have caught the eye of AC Milan.
Fabiano Parisi has a contract with Empoli until 2023. His market value is between 5 and 10 million euros. A young Italian player would also be useful in the Champions League to respect the squad list rules of UEFA. With Empoli, AC Milan are also discussion about Albanian duo Nedim Bajrami and Kristjan Asllani.
