AC Milan will make a new attempt to sign Gerard Deulofeu this summer. Watford demand 40 million euros for the Spanish right winger.
AC Milan have not changed their mind about Gerard Deulofeu. Sporting director Leonardo actually tried to sign the Spaniard in January but Watford’s economic demands were deemed too high. Now AC Milan are willing to make a revamped attempt in the summer.
According Calciomercato, contacts between the Brazilian and the English club have remained active. The entourage of Deulofeu is also in constant talks with the Rossoneri. The club could open negotiations immediately after the end of the season if Champions League qualification is achieved.
The former Barcelona right winger spent six splendid months at San Siro in 2017 and has never hidden his desire to return one day. Deulofeu’s will to join Milan could facilitate Leonardo’s work.
Calciomercato reports that AC Milan have already decided, the Rossoneri will to try again to sign Deulofeu. The performances of the 25-year-old winger have convinced Milan to make a new attempt for him. Deulofeu has scored 11 goals and has provided 5 assists in 28 appearances this season guiding Watford in the FA Cup final.
However dealing with the English club isn’t going to be easy. Watford will try to capitalize on Deulofeu’s form and have increased his price tag to 40 million euros. Considerable diplomatic work and above all the right formula is required, perhaps loan with the right to buy. AC Milan’s opponent in the race for Gerard is Borussia Dortmund who need to replace Christian Pulisic, already transferred to Chelsea. And the Germans have no economic problems…
