AC Milan complete striker sale

Genoa have decided to sign former AC Milan striker Gianluca Lapadula on permanent basis. The ex Rossoneri number 9 makes his transfer official after a season on loan.

Gianluca Lapadula is no longer an AC Milan player. The 28 year old striker moved to Genoa on loan last July but now his new club has decided to make the move permanent. It has been a difficult season for the Italian centre forward, full of injuries but Lapadula managed to demonstrate his true value in the last games of the season when he scored 4 goals in 8 appearances.

The former Pescara star join AC Milan in 2016 to form the attacking partnership with Carlos Bacca. The Rossoneri paid 9 million euros at the time. He scored 8 goals in 27 Serie A games with many of his appearances being as a substitute. Last summer he decided to change area after the Chinese overhaul.

He transferred on loan for 2 million euros while now Genoa will pay an additional 11 million (13 in total) to make his move permanent. Good business by Massimiliano Mirabelli who aims to invest the money earned from the sale of unnecessary elements like Lapadula in purchasing a top striker that can guarantee many goals for the Rossoneri for next season.
