AC Milan make final decision on Piatek’s future
AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek is at the center of transfer rumors following the Rossoneri’s hunt for a new striker.
The introduction of Krzysztof Piatek to Serie A was devastating. The unknown Polish centre forward scored 30 goals in his first season in Italy earning himself a move to AC Milan for a record fee of €35 million.
However, Piatek’s second season in Serie A is proving rather difficult. The 24-year-old striker has scored just 4 goals so far in 16 appearances and most of them from the penalty spot. His weak form has forced AC Milan to look for other options trying to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic back for a second spell at San Siro.
The Rossoneri have offered Ibrahimovic a one and a half year contract of €10 million. The management is currently awaiting for Ibra’s response but at the meantime, Boban and Maldini, are also evaluating alternative names in case Zlatan decides to refuse AC Milan’s offer and retire.
Despite the name of the new striker AC Milan will not sell or loan Krzysztof Piatek. Rumors emerged recently about a possible loan back to Genoa for the remaining of the season but AC Milan have no intention of letting Piatek go. The player too has confirmed his intention to stay at San Siro regardless the arrival of a new striker or his name. Piatek wants to redeem himself in 2020 offering encouraging signals in recent games and promising more in the future.
“Maybe I did something wrong during the summer preparation, in the first games I wasn’t fresh, I felt heavy and without energy. It was a problem, but now I feel good. I am playing well with the team, I fight and recover many balls. This is the real Piatek, I want to continue like this”.
