AC Milan have received a shocking €70 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain for Rafael Leao but the player will not be moving.
Rafael Leao has been the big protagonist of AC Milan this season. The Portuguese left winger has matured a lot and is now a key figure in Stefano Pioli’s eleven. For the first time in his career Leao has reached double figures scoring 11 goals and providing 6 assists.
Excellent performances that have allowed AC Milan to fight for the Scudetto. At the same time, the 22-year-old has attracted the attention of important European clubs. Leao has been on the radar of Manchester City and Barcelona for quite awhile but Paris Saint-Germain are the first club to make concrete steps for the Rossoneri number 17.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that PSG have offered €70 million to AC Milan for Rafael Leao. His agent Jorge Mendes presented PSG’s bid to the Rossoneri in a recent meeting. At the same time, the French are offering the Portuguese a salary of €6 million per season. A staggering figure that would have made Rafael the most expensive sale in AC Milan history but the Rossoneri have other plans.
AC Milan have no intention to sell one of their best players. Maldini believes Leao can become even better in the future. The player too doesn’t want to leave the Rossoneri according to Gazzetta. In a recent interview he openly declared his love for the club, the city and said he dreamed of making history with the Red and Black colors.
AC Milan and the player are in talks to extend his contract until 2026 with improved terms. Rafael Leao is set to earn around €4.5 million plus bonuses with the new contract. He currently earns €1.5 million. The agreement with be finalized after CAS reveals the final verdict on the breach of contract issue that involves Sporting Lisbon and Lille.
