Torino midfielder Soualiho Meite will become the first January signing of AC Milan. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports the breaking news that AC Milan and Torino have reached an agreement and the 26-year-old will join Stefano Pioli’s squad.
“The deal has been completed, they are closing minor details and must decide how to divide the 10 million between loan and the option to buy. Milan want Meite to be part of the squad list for their Monday match. The Rossoneri wanted a player who was already familiar with the Italian league“.
As reported earlier by acmilaninfo.com, the Rossoneri exploited the two back-to-back matches with Torino to discuss the transfer of Soualiho Meite. That was the reason why the former Monaco was left out of the starting eleven in both games.
The Rossoneri midfield is in a state of emergency lately with Ismael Bennacer out from several weeks. Sandro Tonali and Franck Kessie have also missed a couple of times while Rade Krunc had to be adapted in a central role, just like Davide Calabria when others were absent. A new player was needed and the arrival of Meite completes Milan’ midfield.
The 26-year-old French player joined Torino in 2018 from Monaco for a figure of nearly 12 million euros. He played a key role in the first two season but the lost his regular spot with the arrival of coach Marco Giampaolo. Meite has made 14 Serie A appearances this season scoring once and providing one assist
