AC Milan close the January window with 9 transfers

AC Milan have closed the January transfer window with four signings. Five players have left on temporary or permanent transfers.

The January transfer window has just closed. AC Milan were one of the most active Italian clubs on the market improving Stefano Pioli’s squad and giving him more choices than before. In total, four players arrived and five left. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri were unable to find a back-up for Theo Hernandez.

The Croatian striker has joined Milan on a 6-month contract with the option of an annual renewal. The former Juventus strengthens the attacking department with his experience and his work culture which in Italy has gained praise during his years with Allegri’s Juventus. Pioli will be able to use him both as a centre forward and left winger.

The French midfielder arrived from Torino on loan for six months with the option to make the transfer permanent for a figure of close to 9 million euros. The former Monaco midfielder can serve as a replacement for Kessie, Bennacer and Tonali. Judging from his first appearances Meite needs to do much better if he wants to stay for at Milan for long.

The most interesting signing is that Fikayo Tomori. Maldini had been following him since last summer and after Simaan’s injury decided to sign the English defender instead. Tomori joined AC Milan on loan for six months with an option to make the transfer permanent for a fee of 28 million euros. Young left-back Milos Kerkez was the last player to join Milan.

Regarding departures Leo Duarte was the first to leave. He joined Istanbul Basaksehir on loan with an option to buy. Conti moved to Parma also on loan but with the obligation to buy for 7 million euros. Lazio signed Musacchio for just one million. After Mandzukic’s arrival, the Rossoneri loaned Lorenzo Colombo to Serie B club Cremonese. Brazlian striker Luan Capanni will play in Spain for the rest of the season at Racing Club de Santander.
