AC Milan inform two players that they will leave

The cleansing at AC Milan has already begun with two Rossoneri players informed that they will leave the club in the summer.

AC Milan are preparing for yet another revolution. Regardless of who will be the Rossoneri’s new coach, Ivan Gazidis (with or without the help of Paolo Maldini) will guide the next upheaval at Casa Milan.

The management has clear ideas on who will be the summer signings but, first, the club must sell. A big number of players will leave starting from Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Bilgia. The club has informed the two players of the decision in a recent phone call.

Giacomo Bonaventura has been part of AC Milan for the past six seasons since his arrival from Atalanta in 2014 for €7 million. Bonaventura immediately became a key part of AC Milan until last season when a knee injury kept him out of play for nine months. This season Jack has been used sporadically by either Giampaolo or Pioli.

Until last summer Milan intended to offer Bonaventura a contract renewal but his performances and his age (30 years old) haven’t convinced Gazidis. Bonaventura’s departure was something expected even from the player who was obviously unhappy with the very little play time this season. His agent Mino Raiola went as far as to claim that “it’s irrational how a player like Jack isn’t a regular starter in this Milan side“.

On the other hand few could complain that Biglia’s departure isn’t anything less but logic. Arrived for an important figure of nearly €20 million three years ago, Lucas Biglia failed to repeat his form at Lazio and was often injured. The Argentine midfielder is AC Milan’s second highest paid player, together with Romagnoli, (see wages here) while Jack earned 2 million per season.
