Atletico Madrid’s purchase of Valencia striker Rodrigo, frees the road for AC Milan to sign Angel Correa.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Angel Correa is very close to joining AC Milan. Now that Atletico Madrid have completed the purchase of Valencia striker Rodrigo, Correa is finally free to join the Rososneri.
Atletico Madrid have signed Rodrigo Moreno for 55 million euros plus 5 million in add-ons that bring the total transfer fee to €60 million. AS reports that the signing of Rodrigo will be financed by the sale of both Angel Correa and Nikola Kalinic, a former player of the Rossoneri.
AC Milan and Atletico Madrid have been negotiation for a long time but both clubs have remained firm on their initial positions. The Spanish club demands 55 million for the Argentine striker while the Rossoneri will not go beyond 45 million, bonuses included.
A deal is expected to completed soon with the player recently rejecting a move to Monaco and handing a transfer request to join Milan instead. However, before closing the purchase of Correa, the Rossoneri still need to make an important sale.
Andre Silva is the top candidate to leave. The Portuguese striker is not part of AC Milan’s project but interest in him is not that high since a failed move to Monaco earlier this month.
