MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is one of the names AC Milan are considering to sign in January.
AC Milan will bring in a new midfielder when the January transfer window opens. The department could use some improvements and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the targets of the Rossoneri is Mohamed Elneny.
The 27-year-old is a mixture of Frank Kessie, Lucas Biglia and Ismael Bennacer. He could be a central or defensive midfielder that can offer various solutions to coach Stefano Pioli. Elneny can act as vice-Kessie, always on Wolverhampton’s radar, or as a more muscular alternative to current registas.
A useful option for Pioli who is intends to push Lucas Paqueta and Theo Hernandez closer to Suso to Leao. However, the preferred choice of the Italian coach is his former player Roberto Gagliardini. Elneny is currently on loan at Besiktas but his club, Arsenal, are looking to cut short his adventure in Turkey and would rather sell the 75 times capped Egypt international.
The central midfielder was one of the most sought-after talents at Basel before completing a transfer to Arsenal in 2016. Three years ago, his agent was at Casa Milan to talk with Paolo Maldini and with the Zvonimir Boban.
There are many question marks if Elneny will ever be able to perform at the highest levels. At 27, he is considerd as the finished product. Arsenal value their midfielder at 15 million euros and the price is not negotiable according to the Gunners.
