AC Milan have completed the signing of Liverpool striker Divock Origi. The Belgian will arrive in Italy next week.
The season ended on a high note for AC Milan with Stefano Pioli’s squad lifting the Scudetto title after eleven years. The Rossoneri will immediately start preparations for what is expected to be a busy summer ahead. The club sale will definitely take center stage while Maldini and Massara work to build a more competitive squad for next season.
The first player to land in Italy is going to be Divock Origi. The 27-year-old Belgian striker is set to join AC Milan next week. Origi will bid farewell to Liverpool immediately after the Champions League final. He will arrive in Italy to undergo medical exams and sign for the Rossoneri afterwards reports The Athletic.
Divock Origi will put pen to paper on a four-year contract with a salary of €3.5 million per season, plus bonuses. The Belgian will be the third centre forward in Stefano Pioli’s squad, although, the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is yet to be deciphered.
Origi has found little space in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven this season. Nevertheless, he has been a key player when given the chance. Origi has made 18 appearances this season scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists. When put into perspective, Divock has contributed with a goal or assists every 60 minutes.
Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are strong believers in the talent of the 27-year-old. Despite not being a regular starter at Anfield Road, the management thinks the former Lille will have an important impact at San Siro just like other arrivals from the Premier League in the past.
