A very positive year for Stefano Sensi is coming to an end. The 23-year-old central midfielder become a regular starter for Sassuolo thanks to his innate talent, passing abilities, ball control and great technique. Now he’s an Italy international and ready to join a top club.
Without a doubt Sensi is one of the brightest prospects of the new Italian generation and one of the most in-demand players in Serie A. AC Milan are the most interested club in his services. The Rossoneri will invest a lot to improve their midfield this summer and the Sassuolo star is Leonardo’s top target in that department. The Brazilian sporting director has been following the 23-year-old for months and is fully convinced Stefano Sensi is Milan material.
Libero reveals that AC Milan have already agreed terms with Sensi. The central midfielder will sign a 5 year contract of 1.8 million euros per season plus bonuses. Negotiations continue with Sassuolo who are aware they won’t be able to keep their midfielder when the season ends.
The Neroverdi are asking for a figure between 25 and 30 million euros. A considerable fee but one that fully justifies the talent of Sensi who has been dubbed the new Marco Verratti. The signing of Sensi could also be facilitated by Locatelli affair. The former Milan midfielder joined Sassuolo on loan with the obligation to buy and Sassuolo must pay Milan 12 million euros this summer.
Only two weeks remain until the end of Serie A. It’s still unclear whether AC Milan will qualify for Champions League or not but the signing of Stefano Sensi will not be influeced by the final placement of the Rossoneri or the name of the new coach.
