AC Milan win the Derby della Madonnina defeating Inter 2-1 with a convincing team performance thanks to a brace by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
AC Milan win the Derby della Madonnina for the first time in four years thanks to a great collective performance. Coach Stefano Pioli records his first ever derby won in his career thanks to a brace from Zlatan Ibrahimovic who punishes his former club.
All three goals were scored in the first half. Ibrahimovic wins an early penalty that is transformed in goal in the 12th minute. His penalty kick is initially saved by Handanovic but the ball bounces back to Zlatan and the Swedish striker finds the back of the net.
Just four minutes later Rafael Leao is unstoppable on the left and provides a silk assist for Zlatan who scores his second goal. Romelu Lukaku gives hope to Inter but the Nerrazzuri fail to find another goal with Simon Kjaer often being the main reason why.
The Denmark captain was simply monumental and also often covered for Romagnoli’s lack of sharpness (understandable considering it his his first match in a while). Davide Calabria was simply impeccable. The Italian right back totally dominated Perisic and Kolarov. Theo on the other hand had a disappointing night.
Franck Kessie wins his duel with Arturo Vidal and forms a damn alongside Bennacer. Both also give a big helping hand breaking the opponents and pushing the team forward.
In attack Hakan Calhanoglu was creative as ever always trying to assist Ibrahimovic. When Rafael Leo surprisingly was announced as the first minute start it was clear that Pioli only wanted the three points and the Portuguese talent helped the cause. Saelemaekers was quite effective on the right wing, another testimony of how much he has improved recently. No need to mention that the Swedish striker is without a doubt the man of the match.
