AC Milan return to the winning ways with a narrow victory against Torino. Ante Rebic scores the only goal of the match.
After the fine performances against Inter and Juventus but without a victory, AC Milan return to the winning ways beating Torino 1-0 at San Siro. Once again the in-form Ante Rebic decides the match with an assist from Samu Castillejo.
The Rossoneri command the match but are unable to score more goals. With tonight’s 3 points, Pioli’s side gets closer to fifth-place Roma with just 4 points of distance.
A cautious start for AC Milan who play their third game in nine days. An early shot from Zlatan Ibrahimovic immediately scares Torino but the Rossoneri are more concentrated on holding possession while the attacking maneuver is not that brilliant. There is confusion at times until Ante Rebic scores the only goal of the match at the 24th minute.
In the second half AC Milan attack more but fail to capitalize on their chances. First it’s Ibrahimovic who wastes a great chance to double the lead while Samuel Castillejo misses another great opportunity. The second goal does’t arrive but Milan manage the rest of the match ensuring a comfortable win.
An ugly episode happened before the break. At the end of the first half Kjaer suffered an injury and Pioli asked Musacchio to warm up and replace the Danish defender. Musacchio refused claiming he had a muscular problem forcing Pioli to rely on youngster Gabbia (who did a great job) reports journalist Peppe Di Stefano.
