AC Milan vs Inter will be the first semi-final of Coppa Italia. Both clubs have disappointed in recent games and hope to change their luck in the derby.
The first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final will be played tonight at 21:00 CET between AC Milan and Inter. The two clubs are currently at the top of Serie A table but both have underwhelmed in recent league games. Pioli and Inzaghi hope that the Cup could give their respective squads a shake up.
Coach Stefano Pioli is not planning a lot of changes for Milan vs Inter. The defence will be almost same of the last matches. Fikayo Tomori and captain Alessio Romagnoli will form the central duo with Theo Hernandez and Alessandro Florenzi completing the back four. Pioli believes Florenzi can help the squad in attack more than Calabria. As always, Mike Maignan between the posts.
Sandro Tonali is suspended so will not be able to help the Rossoneri in the Cup derby. Ismael Bennacer will play alongside Franck Kessie in midfield. Something is expected to change up front reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Brahim Diaz will likely pay for his recent form with Pioli oriented to deploy Rade Krunic in the attacking midfielder role. Alexis Saelemaekers should return to play on the right wing from the first minute. Rafael Leao completes the trio in support of Olivier Giroud. Once again the French star will lead the attack hopping to repeat what he did in the last derby.
AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Tomori, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Krunic, Leao; Giroud.
INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Martinez, Dzeko.
