Sampdoria vs Milan, probable lineups

sampdoria vs milan

Sampdoria vs AC Milan will be the debut Serie A match of the Rossoneri for the new season. Kessie and Ibrahimovic are out injured.

The transfer market is taking center stage these days with the signing of Alessandro Florenzi and at least two other negotiations in the pipeline. However, Serie A starts this weekend and Sampdoria vs Milan will be the debut match of the Rossoneri.

Tonight, Stefano Pioli’s side will be on stage at the Marassi stadium. A traditionally insidious match also because Sampdoria is one of the many Serie A clubs to have changed their coach in the summer bringing in Roberto D’Aversa. Sportmediaset reports that Stefano Pioli has very clear ideas about the starting eleven to face Samp. He knows he has to do without two key players like Franck Kessie and Zlatan Ibrahimovic but the rest of the squad will be fully available.

The starting eleven for Sampdoria vs Milan seems to have already been written. It will be the official debut match for the two most important signings so far, namely French goalkeeper Mike Maignan and centre forward Olivier Giroud. Both will start from first minute after the excellent pre-season played.

In defence, Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjaer should return to form the central duo with captain Romagnoli destined for the bench. Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria will complete the back line. New arrival Alessandro Florenzi is in the squad.

Coach Pioli will trust Sandro Tonali to replace Kessie alongside Ismael Bennacer. Although, Krunic instead of Bennacer could be the surprise reports Sky Sports. Brahim Diaz, who is currently the only attacking midfielder available, will be in support of Olivier Giroud. Rafael Leao will start the season on the left wing with Alexis Saelemaekers on the opposite flank. Ante Rebic, perhaps among the less brilliant in the summer preparation, will have to wait for his chance in the second half.

SAMPDORIA (4-2-3-1): Audero, Bereszynski, Yoshida, Murillo, Augello, Thorsby, Adrian Silva, Candreva, Gabbiadini, Damsgaard, Quagliarella.

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan, Calabria, Tomori, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez, Tonali, Bennacer (Krunic), Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao, Giroud.
