Milan vs Cagliari, probable lineups

AC Milan make their home debut against Cagliari on Sunday. The Rossoneri are in search of their second victory.

The Rossoneri make their San Siro debut after the fine display against Sampdoria. Tonight’s AC Milan vs Cagliari will also be the last match before the two week international break. Just like Inter, it’s important for Stefano Pioli’s side to record two consecutive wins and have the chance to work with new signings calmly during this time.

With only victory in mind, Pioli will probably make only one change to his starting eleven. Just like against Sampdoria, the backline for Milan vs Cagliari will be the same. Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori will form the central duo with Davide Calabria on the right and Theo Hernandez on the left. Mike Maignan will protect the goal.

Ismael Bennacer will take his spot in midfield. Krunic started in the Serie A opener but the Algerian looks in fine physical form and will partner with Sandro Tonali. The Italian central midfielder orchestrated the game with Samp. Kessie remains out and will return after the international break.

No changes up front. Rafael Leao has started the season well and is now the regular starter on the left wing. Rebic must do much better this year after a fluctuating last season. Brahim Diaz is undisputed in the attacking midfielder role with Alexis Saelemaekers on the right. All three will be in support of Oliveri Giroud in search of his first goal with AC Milan.

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Kjaer, Tomori, Calabria, Bennacer, Tonali, Leao, Brahim Diaz, Saelemaekers, Giroud.

CAGLIARI (3-5-2): Radunovic, Capittelli, Godin, Carboni, Nandez, Marin, Strootman, Deiola, Dalbert, Joao Pedro, Pavoletti.
