Pioli will make several changes for the upcoming Fiorentina vs Milan. Six Rossoneri players are out because of injuries.
AC Milan are expected to play an insidious away match against Fiorentina, after the two defeats against Napoli and Manchester United. Today’s match in Florence will be another difficult encounter for Stefano Pioli’s team. For Fiorentina vs Milan, the Italian coach will be without the services of Davide Calabria, Alessio Romagnoli, Rafael Leao, Ante Rebic, Mario Mandzukic and Daniel Maldini.
Pioli will confirm the usual 4-2-3-1 formation and with nearly the same defence seen against Milan-Manchester United. Fikayo Tomori will start from the first minute alongside Simon Kjaer and Theo Hernandez on the left. The only doubt is on the right, where Diogo Dalot is in advantage over Pierre Kalulu.
In midfield, Franck Kessie will certainly start from the first minute. Sandro Tonali will likely be his partner after the disappointing performance of Soualiho Meite in Europa League. Ismael Bennacer seems to have fully recovered and is expected to make an appearances in the second half.
Both Alexis Saelemaekers and Hakan Calhanoglu are sure to start from the first minute. On the left, Pioli seemed oriented to relaunch Jens Petter Hauge but in the last training session he has used Brahim Diaz in that position. The experiment with Rade Krunic as left winger will not be repeated any more.
The center forward will be Zlatan Ibrahimovic, still not in perfect physical conditions but ready to lead the attack in Fiorentina vs Milan. On Thursday, Pioli experimented Samuel Castillejo as a “false nine” but not with pleasing results. The absence of Leao and Rebic leaves no room for choices.
FIORENTINA (3-5-2): Dragowski, Milenkovic, Pezzella, Qurta, Caceres, Castrovilli, Pulgar, Bonaventura, Benuti, Ribery, Vlahovic.
AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Dalot, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Diaz (Hauge); Ibrahimovic.
