Atalanta vs Milan, probable lineups
AC Milan face Atalanta tonight in a match that will decide whether the Rossoneri will play Champions League football next season or not.
Tonight, the Rossoneri will play the most important match of the season. Atalanta vs Milan will decide whether Stefano Pioli’s side will play in the Champions League next season. On the other hand, the Bergamo club have already secured a spot in Champions but want to end the season in second place.
The goalless draw against Cagliari has complicated a lot the situation of the Rossoneri. Now, Milan need a win in order to avoid being depended from the respective results of Napoli or Juventus. For Atalanta vs Milan, coach Pioli has made his decisions regarding the starting eleven.
Captain Alessio Romagnoli will end the season on the bench, Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori will form the central duo in defence. The two have formed a rock-solid duo in the second part of the season. Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria will complete the back four.
Ismael Bennacer will partner Franck Kessie in midfield. The two have a very crucial role to play since Atalanta’s midfield is one of the most organized and attacking-minded departments in the league. Coach Stefano Pioli has yet to make a final decision on the up front four.
Ante Rebic suffered an injury in the last training session and will likely be out of the match squad for tonight. The absence of Croatian star means Pioli has no doubts in attack. Alexis Saelemaekers and Hakan Calhanoglu will play on the wings with Brahim Diaz in support of Rafael Leao. Diaz will be in the second striker role while the Portuguese talent must lead the attack against Atalanta.
