Milan vs Atalanta, probable lineups
AC Milan face Atalanta in what is sure to be a very tough match for the Rossoneri. Several players are absent for Milan vs Atalanta.
An AC Milan squad in a state of emergency faces Atalanta tonight at 21:45 CET. Stefano Pioli will have to do without the services of Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer. Both are suspended for Milan vs Atalanta.
Suspension is only a part of the problem because Romagnoli, Musacchio and Conti are injured and will miss tonight’s match. The situation of Danish defender Simon Kjaer is a bit more optimistic but he will be in doubt until the very last moments.
Coach Stefano Pioli despite the many absences should not change the game system. The 4-2-3-1 formation starts with Gigio Donnarumma as usual between the posts. Calabria will play on the right with Diego Laxalt replacing Theo on the left. If Simon Kjaer fully recovers then he will play alongside Mateo Gabbia. In case he doesn’t make it then Kessie will play in defence.
If that won’t be required the Ivorian midfielder will play in his usual position but this time his partner will be Lucas Biglia. In front of the two there will be Alexis Saelemaekers, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ante Rebic,
No doubt regarding the name of the starting striker with Zlatan Ibrahimovic ready to lead the squad against Atalanta. Gasperini’s side are the most in-form club of Serie A with their strikers having found the back of the net more than any other Italian club.
AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Laxalt; Biglia, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.
ATALANTA (3-4-2-1): Gollini; Toloi, Caldara, Palomino; Hateboer, Malinovsky, Freuler, Gosens; Pasalic, Gomez; Zapata.
