AC Milan travel to Atlanta in search of their first victory against Serie A’s big six but without Theo Hernandez e Lucas Paqueta.
Coach Stefano Pioli wants AC Milan to get their first win against one of Serie A’s big team. After two consecutive wins with Parma and Bologna, the Rossoneri were held in a goalless draw with Sassuolo. A positive result against Atalanta would help Milan climb the Serie A rankings and approach the top six.
Gasperini’s side have the best attack in the league but will have to do without their best striker Duvan Zapata for Atalanta vs Milan. The Rossoneri too will be without their best player this season Theo Hernandez and Lucas Paqueta, both suspended for one match.
The absence of Hernandez gives Ricardo Rodriguez the chance to make his first-minute debut under Pioli. Andrea Conti is confirmed on the right with Musacchio and Romagnoli forming the central duo. After so many months injured, Mattia Caldara is part of Milan’s 23-men squad to face Atalanta.
There will be no changes in midfield. It seems like Franck Kessie has established himself again part of the starting eleven with Rade Krunic set to accommodate on the bench. Giacomo Bonaventura and Bennacer complete the midfield.
Despite Rafael Leao’s excellent performance in the last minutes against Parma, Pioli will trust again on Krzysztof Piatek to led the attack. The Italian coach insists that the two strikers can play together but just not from the first minute. Calhanoglu and Suso will be in support of the Pole.
ATALANTA (4-3-1-2): Gollini, Toloi, Paolomino, Djimsiti, Castagne, de Roon, Malinovskyi, Gosens, Pasalic, Gomez, Ilicic.
AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Conti, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Kessie, Bennacer, Bonaventura; Suso, Piatek, Calhanoglu.
