Former AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic dreams of a return at San Siro. The Swedish star becomes a free agent in January.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants AC Milan return reports Spanish newspaper Marca. The Swedish striker, who considers his adventure in Major League Soccer closed, wants to play in Europe again and the call of Serie A is very strong for him to refuse.
His wish according to Marca would be a second spell at the Rossoneri. He is in love with Milan, as is his family. But the motivation behind this dream there would also be Zlatan’s strong desire to help Milan raise again. Ibrahimovic has remained very attached with the Red and Blacks and was close to AC Milan at the same period last year.
Former sporting director Leonardo was very close to Ibrahimovic’s signing lat only to pull the plug at the last moment. Depending on reports, it was either Ivan Gazidis to block the move because of Zlatan’s age and the club’s policy not to sign players over thirty, or Ibrahimovic himself to decide to stay with LA Galaxy for one more year.
His age and hefty salary are a big problem for AC Milan. Despite Ibra’s strong desire his return to AC Milan in January remains unlikely. However, if Maldini and Boban insist they could perhaps persuade Elliot to invest on a player of Ibra’s caliber. A player of his mentality could be very useful for a young squad like Pioli’s side.
There are so many possibilities for Ibrahimovic, also in Italy. The most likely possibility is Bologna of his friend Sinisa Mihajlovic. “Yes, if Ibra would like to come to help Sinisa, we will do everything in our power to make this happen,” said Walter Sabatini, sporting director of Bologna .
